Maksim Chmerkovskiy was born on January 17th, 1980 to Aleksandr and Larisa Chmerkovskiy. Maks has a younger brother named Valentin (Val] who is also a professional dancer.
Maks began dancing at the age of 4 and since then has devoted his life to DanceSport.
Although Maks has a reputation for being the "bad boy" of the ballroom, it's not understood by his large following.
During season 10 [Maks' 7th] of Dancing With The Stars, he was paired with ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews. The couple's chemistry has led to high ratings as well as speculation that the pair are developing a romance outside of the studio.
Maks and Erin may have finished third, but their dances play in in our memories and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of many love bugs.
